Find the affected speaker
Remove the case, dry the exterior, and identify which speaker grille was exposed. Hold the iPad so that grille faces downward. On models with multiple speakers, avoid covering the other openings with your hands.
Run the pattern carefully
Choose Quick or Gentle for a first attempt. Deep and Sweep provide longer Pro patterns for persistent moisture. Use the app’s volume guidance and let the selected pattern complete while the grille points down.
Test every channel
Use the left/right speaker test, tones, or pink noise to compare channels. The approximate dB meter can show nearby sound level, but it is not a calibrated measurement instrument.
If one channel remains silent or distorted after the iPad has dried, contact a repair professional. Sound patterns can help move water; they cannot repair damaged components.
